That’s what they say at this time of year, when the clocks go forward, daylight is aplenty and the first shoots of new growth appear all around.
I really hope that is true not only for the greenery but for the thousands of small businesses up and down the country that have suffered such a torrid 12 months.
We have now had the Spring Budget and as expected a number of elements key for businesses to continue are being extended – Furlough being the main one, although how a business can look to grow out of the current situation without its staff beats me.
Bounce Back Loans and CBILS have now ended and are being replaced with the Recovery Loan Scheme. This launches in a few days time and I have a number of sessions on the 6th April with the British Business Bank and lenders to get more detail on the scheme and see how it can really help our clients to ‘Recover’. What we know about the scheme so far is available here.
We look forward to the continuing easing of lockdown and the ability to meet friends for a drink plus organised sport returning. For myself, this means the cricket club opens its doors and we mix moderate amounts of exercise with equally moderate amounts of drinking- Honest!
I’ve just been nudged by wet nose, so I guess it’s time for our walk.
